I get your point, but philological accuracy was never the purpose of the saga, which started out as a joke anyway. It was just supposed to be an Icelandic-ish spelling for the English pronunciation of Tatooine.

Would a non-compound (?) word like Tattúín really be possible in Old Icelandic? If I’m not mistaking, an acute vowel is associated with stress (since it’s long and Old Norse didn’t have long unstressed vowels, I think) which means that in ON Tattúín would be pronounced taht-TOO-EEN. N.B.: In Modern Icelandic unstressed vowels may be acute since acute vowels aren’t associated with length, for example bíó. (Such words are loan words unless they’re a compounds.)
